about
Northern California singer-songwriter Anna Seitz’s acoustic-oriented music combines the literate and poetic sensibilities of artists such as Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon, the sunny
optimism of a Colbie Caillat, and the authenticity of Alison Krauss, all coming from the perspective of someone who is serious about her Christian faith.
Anna has been passionate about music since she was a child. After growing up taking piano lessons and singing at elementary school talent shows, at the age of twelve she decided she wanted to learn to play the guitar. Since her dad’s guitar was too big for her, she set her sights on buying a Big Baby Taylor. She saved up all of her allowance, birthday and Christmas money for a whole year, and resolved not to make a single unnecessary purchase! At the end of that year, and with a little help from her grandpa, she finally brought her first guitar home. Shortly thereafter, she began to write songs, and kept this up through the years, sharing them mostly at home with her immediate family. After high school, she served as a worship intern for a year at a local church, but soon realized that her real musical strength lay in communicating her ideas through her own songs, in her own words.
A few years later, while Anna was guest leading one Sunday morning at her uncle’s church in Walnut Creek, she performed one of those original songs. It just so happened that Clay Collins, a local Christian artist and producer was in the congregation that day. He was struck by what he heard. One thing led to another, and Anna was soon recording what was supposed to just be a three-song demo. This then grew into the newly released Indigo and White EP, and to the ongoing recording of her first full album, which is already underway.
“I love to see how the songs I have written can bring encouragement and joy to a world that needs more of it” Anna says. “I hope people will come away from my songs with a fresh joy, a new perspective, and having had fun listening to them!
“With clear pure vocals and exquisite writing, singer/songwriter Anna Seitz delivers heart- capturing song after song. Her music shines with a refreshing innocence through thoughtful turns of the phrase, tactile images, and a compelling sense of the spiritual truths that run through the course of ordinary things.”
